Artist Statement

Jennie Du is a Singapore-based painter whose work revolves around the quiet, intimate relationship between mother and child.

Working across oil and charcoal, she begins from observation and gradually develops a more personal visual language, where form is deliberately softened and emotion takes precedence.

Her work is not concerned with capturing physical likeness, but with holding onto what is destined to slip away — time, closeness, and an unspoken bond that cannot be preserved.
